Love of Christ is Evident

People in the world give gifts, but I doubt if any of them would be willing to give any of their children to die for a sinful world. God shows his love not only by words but by his action, but giving HIS ONLY SON to die for us on the cross was the ultimate prize that God had to pay for our redemption

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

  • Downfall of man - After the fall of Adam we all became sinners by birth ( by default) and were separated from God by our sins. Being separated from God our Father was the worst blow a human being could ever get. Since God judges righteously, He had to look for a righteous way to bring back man to himself. Man has sinned and needed to pay the debt of his wrongdoings by death penalty.
  • Reconciliation back to God - Jesus was sent to do the work of reconciling fallen man back to God. Jesus died on the cross to pay for us the debt that we were supposed to pay by death. He did this by shedding his blood on the cross and then redeeming us from the prison we were. He already paid the debt and we need not continue being condemned to death by receiving Him as Lord and saviour
  • Receiving Christ - Receiving Christ and confessing Him as Lord and saviour is like receiving the gift that God gave us in the person of Jesus Christ. Rejecting Him is tantamount to signing our own death sentence and eternal damnation. Jesus came not to condemn us, but he came so that we may have life everlasting. Since God is loving He had to give us a way to go back to Him and have fellowship with Him
  • No Excuse - It is appointed for a man to die once and then after that to face judgement. Since God is a righteous judge, he will judge us righteously. Those who reject God's redemption plan will also be judged accordingly, because there will be no excuse at all for having rejected Christ the hope of glory. Remember that God's case has no appeal.
